Thomas Greenwood is a New Jersey–based artist known for large-scale, highly detailed charcoal drawings that combine contemporary realism with an interest in mythology, history, and symbolism. With a professional background in architecture, design, and architectural visualization, Greenwood brings a strong understanding of light, proportion, composition, and three-dimensional form to his work.

His drawings often examine subjects whose meanings have changed across time, using technical precision not simply in pursuit of realism, but to create psychological and physical presence. Works such as his 42-by-42-inch Medusa II reflect his fascination with classical imagery and the enduring power of ancient symbols. After years of developing his artistic practice largely in private, Greenwood is now building a focused body of charcoal work centered on mythology, mortality, beauty and the sublime.
